What you will be able to do

Eight outcomes, each practised in an exercise.

01
Decide in minutes whether any EU or non-EU company is in scope, which wave, and which standards and assurance apply.
02
Explain double materiality precisely, and run an assessment an auditor will accept.
03
Navigate the ESRS and find the datapoints that matter in your sector.
04
Build an auditable Scope 1–3 inventory and set targets that meet ESRS E1.
05
Read any sustainability statement in twenty minutes and see where it is weak.
06
Design the gap analysis, roadmap and control matrix for a first statement.
07
Apply the value-chain cap and the VSME standard as a supplier or mid-size company.
08
Brief a board in ten minutes and write a dated 90-day plan for your role.
Curriculum

An introduction and seven modules.

Every module ends with an exercise that uses a sheet in the toolkit, a worked solution you can check your answer against, a quiz and a five-minute recap.

Intro
Why this course exists, and how to use it
The reporting landscape in 2026 and a map of the path ahead.
Module 1
The regulatory stack after the Omnibus
From NFRD to CSRD, who is in scope now, the timeline, and how CSRD fits with CSDDD, the Taxonomy, SFDR and ISSB.
Module 2
ESRS 1 and 2: double materiality and general disclosures
Impact and financial materiality, the IRO register, and the disclosures every company makes.
Module 3
The environmental standards, E1 to E5
Climate, pollution, water, biodiversity and resource use — with the datapoints that matter most.
Module 4
Social and governance standards; the assessment as a project
S1 to S4 and G1, and how to run a materiality assessment with real stakeholders.
Module 5
Case studies across six sectors
How published statements handle materiality, targets and value chains.
Module 6
The practitioner’s toolkit
Scope checker, IRO register, gap analysis and GHG inventory in one workbook, with step-by-step walkthroughs of each sheet.
Module 7
Putting CSRD to work: your 90-day plan
Readiness memos, board briefings, assurance preparation and a dated plan.
Quarterly
What changed
Short update lessons whenever the rules move — first edition: the simplified ESRS delegated act.
Learn from real statements

Six sectors, read the way practitioners read them.

Energy
When the transition is the business model

Climate as strategy, and biodiversity at sea.

Pharmaceuticals
Ordering a statement by what matters most

Starting with patients, not with datapoints.

Wind
An executive summary auditors accepted

And a footprint led by steel.

Shipping
Explaining a restatement honestly

Why fleet data comes first.

Fashion
Targets across a global supply chain

Materials, wages and what reuse can prove.

Financed emissions as the main event

And a materiality assessment done across a portfolio.

Cases are discussed using companies’ own public reports. No affiliation or endorsement is implied.

Questions

Before you enrol.

Is the course current after the Omnibus?
Yes. It is built on the amending directive in force since 18 March 2026 and EFRAG’s December 2025 simplified ESRS advice, and it is updated each quarter as the delegated act and national transpositions arrive.
My company is no longer in scope. Is it still useful?
Yes. Large customers and banks still ask for sustainability data, and the course covers the value-chain cap and the VSME standard for companies in exactly that position.
I work outside the EU. Does it apply to me?
Often. Non-EU groups with more than €450m EU turnover and an EU subsidiary or branch above €200m report from financial year 2028, and the course shows how ESRS aligns with ISSB.
Do I need Excel skills?
Basic skills are enough. The toolkit is pre-built; you fill in cells and read the results.
Can my team take it together?
Yes — team licences start at five seats, with progress reporting and one invoice.
